New Layout / Death Note Anime Licensed? / Ep. 6 / HTR 13 Raw

To get my mind off of all those issues with thieves and also some other stuff, I sat down and finished this layout. I had it in my mind for quite some time, but to align and code it was quite difficult, more than it might seem 
But I hope you guys like it. Do you like this type of simple design better? It’s all bright now, since I was tired of dark colors. Here is a little trivia….
How many characters can you spot in the really light blend in the background?
Some Updates I did today:
- Updated manga list with Volume 8 titles from VIZ
- Updated mangaka page with new quote from Volume 8
- Added and coded the interview from How to Read 13. Im going to work on HTR13 now on and clear out emails soon.

-ANS has learned the Death Note TV animation has been officially licensed for release in the North American market in 2007. We’ll leave the actual licensee to properly announce themselves at their preferred time and in their preferred manner. A few things have to come together before that can happen though. Look for some official word in the form of simultaneous / coordinated press releases anywhere from weeks at earliest to months at latest.

Wow, I LOVE it. It’s much prettier than the other two. I like the simple look, and it’s also much easier on the eyes. Whenevr I read on the other layouts my eyes would go nuts XD congrats on such a beautiful layout! I’ll definitely use this one.

what a pretty layout!! Aside from the character blends, I really like the words that are blended into it too~!! I agree with what A and Kenshin wrote… just makes the layout even that much more wonderful~~!!!

I realize that they understand how popular it will be and they will make money but I don’t like the idea of their slicing and dicing it to hell with censorship later when they do get their hands on it. *sigh* They better not screw the hell up. -_-

I sincerely hope it’s not VIZ who got the anime and it’s Funimation. Funimation is a lot better on matching the voices with the characters that and they send them over to Japan for them to choose, hence it being far better. *sighs* Aa, very gorgeous layout.

=/ Please say it’s not 4kids who licensed it. If it is then they would make Ryuk a clown of laughs. and change the name kira to ummm…I dunno. And it would be called laugh note. That would be so stupid. Maybe it got lisenced by viz though (probably) just hope the voices aren’t as bad as the english hikaru no go or One piece.

hmmm…I’ll definately buy it when it comes out on DVD, but if the english voicesa are horrible (most likely will be T.T) I’ll just have to watch it in japanese ^^ But what I really wannna know is if it’ll be aired or if it will go directly to shelves like gravitation…

L, I can asure you that 4kids didn’t get it. It is impossible for 4kids to be able to butcher it to any point where they would find it acceptable to air.

Some English VA aren’t THAT bad. It all depends on the company. I do hope that it is Funimation though because they seem to do pretty good work.
I think that it might work well on Adult Swim. Ghost in the Shell is doing well enough, and that one does have a lot more “drama” in it than the rest of the anime they usually choose.

The whole thing about 4kids is a joke but it is still possible. Like look…they got kinikuman2(ultimate muscle) and that is just STRANGE. If anything it’s going to be on adult swim. It will probably replace Bleach’s time block at midnight and have Bleach moved to an earlier time like 10 or something.

Bleach won’t be moved off of [adult swim](it starts at 11 on Saturdays), but I can see Death Note at 12.

that made me devastated. the news about the licensing of death note, i mean, not the layout. coz if DN is licensed then, there would be no more fansubs!!! i wouldnt be able to watch subtitled death note anymore. maybe there would be some on youtube, but that’s the english version. i hate it. dammit. they couldve just got it after death note finishes on july 2007.

Don’t worry, I’m sure it will still be possible to watch subtitled Death Note regardless, and I mean also by legal methods and everything. xD Alot of times when anime is released on DVD in NA they give you the option to watch with the original Japanese voices and subtitles. Most of the anime I own offers both sub and dub, anyhow.
Oh, and to Shaza, nice job on the layout; I only know a little bit of coding, but enough to know how tricky it can be! And yeah, is the 1 person left to find Misa? I think I see half of the lower part of her face in there…

I once got a naruto dvd (the movie) and the translations were TOO good and they called naruto “purple fish cake” for death note it probably won’t be as annoying if they had subs like that. Plus I think my dvd might have been messed or something (it might have even been a bootleg)

Don’t worry about Death Note not being subbed by their respective groups. People are still subbing Naruto and Bleach, yea, even though those have been licensed.

Sweet latout. Love it As for the Anime, I’m fine with it being liscensed. Then I can get it on DVD with good subs. I know I’m in the minority, but I hate watching stuff on the comuter. It was probably VIZ that got it, because they own the manga over here, but considering that Black Cat was bought by Funimation, then Death Note has a chance. Either way, the DVD’s will have the Japanese track and good subs, so I don’t care about the dub being good or bad. I always watch Anime in its original language anyway.

Actually, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. I don’t really think the U.S. has licensed DeathNote yet. You think if one site could get that, then AnimeNewsNetwork would have already posted something. Which, someone pointed out, didn’t. It’s either a joke or not confirmed yet. I sincerely doubt an anime can be licensed only six episodes into the show. For Naruto, they waited until after like what, episode 100? So the licensing might not be true at all. *shrug* Just a thought.

Actually it isn’t confirmed yet. The comapny that licensed it hasn’t officially announced it. ANS merely learned about it, which gives ANN no reason to release such news.
Also, longer series like Naruto take longer to license than something like DN, which will be a much shorter series.
