Since this is sort of Death Note related, there was some plagarism by a manga called Megabaka, as related by animenewsnetwork

“In Friday, manga publisher Kodansha Inc. issued an apology for the alleged plagiarism of the popular Death Note manga that appeared in the January 11 issue (released on December 12) of Weekly Shonen Magazine Extra: Magazine Dragon.

According to Kodansha, the manga Megabaka by Naka Gomura was flagged after its release by readers. Those readers noticed that the manga included some images similar to those found in popular manga such as Death Note, Air Gear, and MPD-Psycho. After Kodansha representatives ruled that a large portion of Megabaka contained plagiarized images, Gomura admitted to the acts, and an apology was issued. “

The player assumes the role of a rookie FBI agent who is knocked out during an undercover investigation. The player wakes up in a strange hotel and tries to escape despite the various traps laid out throughout the building. Canada’s YTV channel emailed a YTV Anime Bulletin on Monday that confirmed that it will premiere the Death Note supernatural suspense anime series at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, October 26. YTV’s owner, Corus, had previously said that Death Note would premiere on September 7, only to remove the series from the channel’s schedule just days before. The Adult Swim network in the United States has confirmed on its online message boards that it will premiere the Death Note supernatural suspense anime series on October 20 at 12:00 a.m. The network had previously posted a television schedule with that timeslot’s program title blacked out, but also broadly hinted that it would be Death Note. Adult Swim sub-licensed the series from Viz Media, which also releases the original manga series. The Viz Pictures live-action film affiliate will release the two live-action films.

Death Note Special Sub Update:

Kuro-Hana is slowly working on a sub for the special, which contains 1700 lines of dialouge, although it’s mostly the first half of the special which needs to be translated. They are currently looking for translators.

The Canadian website Zannen reports that the media company Corus has confirmed YTV channel’s premiere of Death Note on Friday, September 7 at 10:00 p.m. The anime series, based on the popular supernatural suspense manga, will appear in YTV’s Bionix late-night programming block.

Death Note’s L Spinoff to Open on February 9 in Japan

The official website for the spinoff L movie, which focuses on the title detective from the Death Note live-action suspense movies, has announced the February 9, 2008 opening date in Japan.
